LANCO (short for “Lancaster and Company”) was formed in 2013 by namesake and frontman Brandon Lancaster, along with drummer Tripp Howell, guitarist Eric Steedly, keyboardist Jared Hampton, and bassist Chandler Baldwin. They enjoy crafting feel-good country anthems tinged with classic rock and blues edges. A chance meeting between Lancaster and music producer Jay Joyce while at a Keith Urban concert resulted in Joyce signing LANCO. The group then signed with Arista Nashville in late 2015 and released “Extended Play”, a four-song EP, in April 2016.
The break-out song for LANCO was “Greatest Love Story”, inspired by Lancaster’s high-school sweetheart—now his wife. A writer for Netflix’s rural comedy “The Ranch” was on Spotify, looking for something to play during the emotional closing scene in the ninth episode of the series. LANCO had made the song available there months before it hit the radio. That decision led its use in the show, which eventually vaulted “Greatest Love Story” to #1 on the Billboard “Country Airplay” and “Hot Country Songs” charts.
“Greatest Love Story” is part of their full-length debut album “Hallelujah Nights”, released in January 2018. It immediately entered the Billboard “Top Country Albums” at the #1 position. Two other singles on the album have hit the Billboard charts: “Long Live Tonight” and “Born To Love You”. Kewadin Casinos is excited to bring some great country-rock music to our Manistique friends!
Having been on tour with Confederate Railroad for the last year, Melissa Lee is an up-and-coming Nashville country music artist to look out for. She toured the country with “Girls With Guitars” in 2013–14, and performed over 200 shows in 2015 opening for many national acts such as Tyler Farr, The Kentucky Headhunters, Confederate Railroad, and 2015 ACM “New Artist of the Year” winner Cole Swindell. She has shared the stage with artists such as Buddy Jewell and Jeff Carson. Melissa kicked off 2016 with three sold-out shows at our very own Kewadin Casino in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, and returned to DreamMakers Theater in April 2018 to play a release party concert for her first solo album, “Here to Get My Stuff”. It was a spectacular show and we’re ecstatic to have her come to Kewadin Manistique!
Imagine the music of Sawyer Brown, Confederate Railroad, the Marshall Tucker band, Reba McEntire, and a tribute to Charlie Daniels… all in one concert. Bobby has been a driving force behind the music for all of these acts. He was a founding member of the band Sawyer Brown, playing guitar and singing on all of their early hits. Randall has spent the last seven years as a member of the outlaw country band Confederate Railroad, and two years ago they released their first album in 20 years. It features Randall’s lead vocals on a song he wrote called “I’m Not Fallin”. He can also be found playing fiddle with his friend Charlie Daniels on one of the tracks. Bobby has written songs for the Marshall Tucker band, Reba McEntire, Ty Herndon, Sawyer Brown, Confederate Railroad, and many other top artists.
