Dear Valued Guest;

First, I’d like to start by letting you know how much we miss you and that we look forward to seeing you all soon. I’m sure you miss Joe greeting you from the Northern Rewards desk in Manistique, Maurice singing at the top of his lungs when you see him in the Sault hotel or whomever your favorite Kewadin team member may be.

With that, we want you to know that Kewadin Casinos continues to closely monitor the recommendations of public health officials as it relates to Coronavirus (COVID19) and has made the decision to extend the temporary closure of all five Kewadin Casinos, located in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

The casinos and attached hotels will remain closed until April 30. Team members will continue to be paid during the planned closure. As one of the largest employers in the EUP, Kewadin Casinos currently employs approximately 900 full and part-time team members.

Kewadin Casinos is a committed community partner and, as such, we take our responsibility in assisting the stop of coronavirus seriously. We appreciate the Tribal Board of Directors support of our team and their belief that the best choice we can all make at this time is to “Stay Home, Stay Safe”.

A Message to Our Guests Regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19)

kewadin casinos logo

To Our Valued Guests;

Kewadin Casinos is committed to providing our guests with a clean, safe and comfortable environment and are taking proactive steps in implementing preventative measures relating to the Coronavirus (COVID19).

With recent concerns regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we have enhanced our standard cleaning practices that are currently in place. This includes designating further attention to detail to various high-touch/traffic areas, comprising of slot machines, table game areas, chairs, counters, tabletops, doorknobs, bathroom fixtures, toilets, phones, touch screens and keyboards. In addition, current cleaning products have been substituted for a stronger hospital-grade solution that is highly effective at cleansing surfaces.

We know that you may have questions or concerns regarding the efforts Kewadin is taking to manage the efforts relating to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and would like to share with you the proactive steps that are currently being implemented.

  • Posting informational signage and updates for both team members and customers.
  • Providing more hand sanitizer dispensers across our properties in high visibility and high traffic areas.
  • Buying more cleaning and disinfectant supplies. We are increasing the frequency of cleaning high-touch surfaces in public areas in our casinos, including restaurants, bars, fitness centers, public restrooms, hotel rooms, elevators, entertainment venues, as well as slot machines and other frequently touched areas on the casino floor.
  • Increased our reserves of hand sanitizers for use by our guests and employees over an extended period.
  • Reinforcing training procedures to ensure cleaning processes are implemented properly by team members.
  • Discontinuing buffet service until further notice to help eliminate contamination with shared serving utensils.
  • Cancellation of Bingo events until further notice.

Kewadin is actively meeting with health professionals to remain diligent in our efforts as it relates to the Coronavirus (COVID19). Health authorities are encouraging washing hands frequently as well as increasing cleaning practices.

We would also like to take a moment to remind our guests with hotel reservations that we continue to have a flexible cancellation policy at both Kewadin Casino hotels. If you have concerns regarding your travel arrangements, please call us at 1-800-KEWADIN so we can assist with alternative arrangements.

We know there may be additional questions about how we are addressing the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and we welcome you to email us at kewadinrelations@saulttribe.net for answers.
